The Role
A vacancy has arisen within a well known and respected international power solutions organisation for an experienced Maintenance Engineer/Technician to be based in the UK but working throughout Europe and Africa .
Responsibilities
To maintain site services plant equipment with existing procedures, thereby fulfilling site health, safety, environmental, quality and customer service targets. This will include identifying areas for continual improvement
Performance of planned maintenance and overhauls on the gas engines according to GEJ maintenance schedule up to 60,000 operating hours. On-site operators will be trained to perform some of this maintenance and be able to assist the Maintenance Engineer accordingly.
Inspections and adjustment of control systems such as Diane XT engine control system, speed and power control system, ignition systems, exhaust gas emissions reduction and Leanox controls
Performance of planned maintenance on the carbon dioxide production units, absorption chillers, heat recovery steam generators and other equipment, per the relevant maintenance schedules.
Emergency maintenance
Identification and correction of the malfunctions and breakdowns of the CHP unit gas engines and heat recovery steam generators, absorption chillers and carbon dioxide production unit, which cannot be identified and corrected by on-site operating personnel
Active participation in and assistance to the Regional Maintenance Manager in the development of the relevant processes, procedures and systems for the creation of an effective maintenance organization.
General
To provide first line supervision of a small site based team of time served engineers delivering site services maintenance as requested by the regional Maintenance Manager
To liaise with site Plant Managers, Regional Maintenance Manager to ensure maintenance is carried out in line with procedures and production requirements
To carry out planned and unplanned maintenance and diagnostics on site services
plant and equipment including Gas Engines, steam, hot water boiler plant, compressed air systems, refrigeration and HVAC equipment, CO2 production systems, water and waste water treatment plant, electrical distribution system and control systems.
To assist other members of the team to ensure flexibility and meeting the needs of the sites.
To ensure that the Plant Manager is kept well informed of all aspects of safety performance, plant performance and site circumstances which may impact upon the safe, efficient, reliable and cost effective operation of the plant and smooth operation of the contract.
Management of sub contractor’s emphasis to be given to health and safety.
HSEQ
To work to all company and client, customer rules and procedures, giving particular emphasis to Health Safety Security & Environmental management. This includes regulations on waste, the environment and COSHH.
Customer Care
To maintain a good working relationship with site employees and work in a manner which ensures that all aspects of the service agreement between the company and the customer are delivered with the requisite levels of professionalism.
General
To follow the company procedures and standards as expressed in the Company Handbook
To complete all administrative functions correctly and efficiently, either paper log books or by using appropriate IT software, e.g. Maintenance Management System etc
To become fully familiar with all Company and site procedures, which affect them and carry out all responsibilities in a correct and efficient manner
To represent the Company well to customers and external agencies, by reasonable dress and demeanour and ensure the site and all Company property are maintained in a clean and tidy condition.

Qualifications
Time served Electrician or Controls Engineer with recognised awarding body
Experience of maintaining the following plant and equipment
Gas engines
Steam / Hot water boilers
Absorption chillers
Compressed air plant
Refrigeration and HVAC plant
Water and wastewater treatment plant
Electrical distribution systems
HV & LV Systems
C+I systems
In addition you will be experienced in the following
Overseas working
Working at height
Working in confined spaces
Able to work on a 1 in 2 telephone support system
Providing shift cover as required
Working as a commissioning engineer
Willing to work flexible hours
Membership of professional engineering institute
The Company
The company are an international electric power and heating service organisation. Working within two specific fields one building and producing power systems and projects the other offering in-house power and heating solutions to large usage organisations.
The Rewards
The salary range is c £50,000 based on experience, with an additional package.
